What Is Fashion Week?
Fashion Week is a high-profile global event held twice a year in the world's major fashion capitals. It brings together leading designers to showcase their upcoming collections through runway shows and presentations, setting the tone for the trends and styles that will define the next season.
Major Fashion Weeks & Their Schedules
Paris, Milan, New York and London are widely recognised as the "Big Four" of Fashion Week. Each city has its own identity, which means that its Fashion Week differs slightly from the others in cultural focus, aesthetic and commercial intent. Paris is the heart of haute couture and Milan celebrates craftsmanship. New York leads with commerce and wearability, while London is known for creativity and experimentation.
In recent years, smaller, niche Fashion Weeks in cities like Copenhagen and Tokyo have also emerged, garnering intentional attention and becoming events to watch closely.
Fashion Week usually takes place biannually, aligned with the Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter fashion seasons. It typically occurs in February and September, with collections always shown for the upcoming season. For example, although September falls within the Fall/Winter season, designers will showcase what will be on the racks for Spring/Summer in the following year.
Who Attends Fashion Week?
As Fashion Week is still largely an industry-only affair, its attendees are typically fashion insiders such as editors, retail buyers, journalists, celebrities and influencers. However, most Fashion Weeks also feature public events and independent showcases that are open to all, with tickets available for purchase.

CHARLES & KEITH Was the Official Footwear Brand for THIRD FORM at Australian Fashion Week Resort 2025
Marking our first collaboration as the official footwear partner for THIRD FORM, the contemporary womenswear label, Australian Fashion Week Resort 2025 was an experience to remember. Beyond the runway, we also hosted an intimate supper club alongside SIDE-NOTE magazine and friends of the brand to celebrate the occasion.
